COUNSELING PERSPECTIVE
As a provider, Abegail creates a safe and welcoming space that invites clients to show up, just as they are. Abegail works from an integrated and trauma informed perspective, believing that experiences from our past, if left unaddressed, can show up in our present, and impact our capacity to live life fully and with presence. Her work with clients is to come along side with a balance of warmth, candor and knowledge, offering support, building on internal strengths and resources, and working collaboratively to help clients create lasting change in their lives.
Abegail operates from a wholistic model of care, and believes that mental and emotional health and wellness includes a connection between the mind and body. Additionally, she values the importance of spiritual and cultural practices, believing that these tether us, not only to a sense of our own self, but to a sense of connection and community that we are often lacking. Abegail’s theoretical approach to care is integrative and multifaceted, and tailored to best meet the needs of each individual client she serves. Interventions may include, but are not limited to; Psychoeducation, Talk Therapy, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Self-Compassion and Acceptance and Commitment based methods.
