Toni Elmer , LPC
Toni is a counselor with nearly a decade of experience working with children and families across a variety of settings. She is passionate about helping clients feel seen, understood, and supported, and takes a collaborative, down-to-earth approach to care. Toni especially enjoys working with children as they build confidence, develop coping skills, and find greater success in their daily lives.
Originally from Nevada, Toni now calls Alaska home and enjoys spending time outdoors whenever she can. She is a busy mom of four boys, and life at home is full with a lively crew that includes several dogs. When she finds a quiet moment, Toni enjoys reading fantasy and historical fiction.
Education & Training
Toni earned her Master’s of Education in School Counseling from a CACREP-accredited program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Nevada State College. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision.
Her clinical approach is grounded in solution-focused counseling and incorporates cognitive behavioral techniques to support practical, real-life skill building.
Experience
Toni brings nine years of experience supporting children across both structured and general education settings. Her work has included supporting students in behavioral support programs as well as in broader school and community environments.
While her primary experience has been with children, she has also worked with adolescents and is continuing to expand her work with teens and adults. Toni has a growing interest in supporting veterans, informed by her personal connection to the military community.
Counseling Perspective
Toni strives to create a space that feels warm, supportive, and collaborative for clients and their families. She meets clients where they are, helping them build practical skills while also supporting deeper growth over time.
She values the role of families, caregivers, and support systems, and works to extend progress beyond the therapy room. Toni believes meaningful change happens not only in session, but through the small, intentional steps clients take in their everyday lives. Her goal is for clients to feel understood, capable, and empowered as they move toward positive change.
